Thank you for interest to volunteer at our ecoVillage located in Tanzania, Africa

Volunteering at MGRC ecoVillage in Karatu, Tanzania is a rewarding experience for both volunteers and our girls. It involves hard work, adapting to new tasks and projects, and giving up familiar comforts.

If you choose to volunteer at MGRC, you are someone who loves children, thrives in group settings, takes initiative, and doesn’t mind getting dirty. We can have 2-4 volunteers at a time. Volunteers are assigned tasks based on their skills and interests, and expected to help when needed. They are adaptable and flexible, learning alongside the girls they work with.

Our days start early and end only when our last child is in bed. You’ll have a wide range of tasks, including helping on the farm, teaching cooking or sewing classes, giving bike riding lessons to girls, and tutoring or mentoring children.

During your stay

Many volunteers in Tanzania are drawn to the breathtaking landscapes of national parks like the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater.

At MGRC, we understand the importance of making the most out of your safari experience, which is why we not only help schedule visits to these iconic parks but also offer assistance with exhilarating Mt. Kilimanjaro treks. Our team can provide valuable insights and recommendations on safari companies that align with your budget and preferences, ensuring a seamless and unforgettable adventure.

In addition to exploring nature’s wonders, MGRC provides a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in Maasai culture by visiting an authentic Maasai boma, where you can learn about their traditions, customs, and way of life firsthand.
