Empowering Maasai Girls Together: A Powerful Partnership with Theresia “Teddy” Victor Moller

Any successful business leader or entrepreneur will tell you that strategic partnerships are essential for long-term growth and impact. At Maasai Girls Rescue Center, our founder—a retired business executive—has found an extraordinary ally in Theresia “Teddy” Victor Moller, the inspiring founder of Maasai Women’s Health Organization.

Meet Teddy

As a proud member of the Maasai community, Teddy truly understands the challenges our girls face. At just 11 years old, she courageously escaped a forced marriage to a 55-year-old man. After walking for hours in search of safety, she met a compassionate priest who helped her return to school. Teddy went on to earn degrees in nursing and midwifery, and while working at FAME Medical, she launched her own nonprofit to support Maasai women.

The mission of Maasai Women’s Health Organization—advancing women’s health and well-being through education and advocacy—perfectly complements our work at MGRC. By joining forces, we amplify our impact and better equip girls to become strong, healthy, and independent women.

Our Shared Impact

Teddy has visited MGRC many times, teaching our girls about their bodies, health, and self-worth. Because she is Maasai herself, she connects with them in a way outsiders simply cannot. She inspires them to dream of careers in healthcare and stands as living proof that Maasai girls can break cycles of poverty and dependence.

“We are incredibly grateful for Teddy and her team,” says Rick Morro, MGRC founder. “Beyond providing essential health education, she is an extraordinary role model for our girls.”

Teddy shares the same enthusiasm for our collaboration: “Working alongside the MGRC girls has shown me the transformative power of education and collective support. I’ve watched young Maasai women grow in confidence, leadership, and hope for their futures. MGRC’s work is creating lasting change—empowering women and girls to find their voices, protect their rights, and build stronger, more resilient communities.”
