Meet our Maasai Girls
Our mission is to rescue the most disadvantaged young Maasai girls to become strong, confident, independent women. With the involvement of social welfare government authorities, MGRC accepts custody of the neediest girls. They come from situations where they are starving, abused, abandoned, victims of FGM or forced child-marriage. Some have serious medical conditions such as congenital or orthopedic issues, Trachoma, and other parasitic infections. Rather than becoming fateful victims, girls at MGRC can control their own destiny. We raise them as we would our own daughters with consistency and love from caring adults.
At MGRC, girls safely attend the local school, receive proper nutrition, get adequate rest, have medical necessities (such as glasses) attended to, and are provided extra tutoring to help them reach their full potential. With counseling and guidance, we empower them to make their own choices and assume responsibility for their decisions. The girls are exposed to all the possible opportunities of what they can do to make a living and provided the skills to pursue their goals. A better, brighter future is made possible by generous donors and sponsors.
